As many will be aware, Kashmir is going through another extended period of violence. Since early July the valley has been locked by a combination of heavy curfew and continuous strikes, resulting in increasing numbers of dead and very high numbers of injured. This situation has caused a paralysis of public transportation, education and other vital infrastructural services. In spite of this our team has continued to be effective, even though our usual spread of work has not been possible. Our helpline remains functional and the team continues to work with patients. In addition, at the request of Srinagar’s largest hospital we have stepped up our work there supporting the families of those killed and those injured in the on-going violence. Our helpline number remains accessible all across India on 0800 180 7020.
